CF594 Annexin V conjugate is Annexin V labeled with our superior deep-red fluorescent dye CF594. Annexin V is a 35-36 kDa protein that has a high affinity for phosphatidylserine (PS). In normal viable cells, PS is located on the cytoplasmic surface of the cell membrane. In apoptotic cells, however, PS is translocated from the inner to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane, making itself available for Annexin V binding.
CF594 (Ex/Em = 593/614 nm) is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor? 594 and Texas Red? dye but yields much brighter protein conjugates due to its high quantum yield and exceptional water solubility. CF594 also has excellent photostability ideal for demanding applications, such as confocal microscopy and single molecule imaging. The dye is particularly useful to combine with our blue fluorescent CF350, green fluorescent CF488A and far red CF633 or CF647 for multi-color imaging.
